Iron Sculpture
9023 8th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98115
Capsized was created by the homeowner, Jack Baber in collaboration with his Welding Rodeo teammates: his dad, Bill and brother Will and another father/son duo, Peter and Shepard Reiquam. The sculpture was made for an annual sculpture competition and fundraising event sponsored by the Bellingham Technical College. Team Plasma Powerhouse, as they called themselves, participated for thirteen years and in 2017 won First Prize and the BTC President’s Choice Award with Capsized. The Sculpture is an interpretation of a sinking ship being ravaged by the stormy sea, its hull being ripped apart as it sinks below the surface on its way to a watery grave.
