Woodrow and Rosemary Jackson originally opened "Seattle's Original" Catfish Corner in 1985. It was a staple in Seattle, but specifically in the Central District, as a place where community felt at home. In 2009, they sold that business and later the business closed. Terrell Jackson, Woodrow and Rosemary's grandson, has since reopened the business as "Jackson's Catfish Corner" at the corner of 23rd East Union and Jackson Street. Jackson has a strong focus on carrying out the legacy of his grandparents (Woodrow still works there) and caring for community. They hirer several local high school students in roles such as marketing, social media, and administration in addition to those of food service.
