Groundswell NW worked with the City and community to preserve this last wooded shoreline in Ballard, remove invasive vegetation, plant native plants, create a community gathering space, interpretive signage and commission a sculpture by Marvin Oliver - “Salish Welcome” - that draws on Coast Salish themes, welcoming juvenile salmon as they first arrive to sea, and adults as they return to spawn.
